2010/11 Winter Season Scheduled to Open Wednesday, November 24th!

With this week's arctic blast bringing snow and temperatures ideal for productive snowmaking right through Thanksgiving weekend, we're ready to announce opening day will be Wednesday, November 24th, just in time for the first major winter holiday.

For the latest updates and information on opening day, alpine and Nordic conditions bookmark the new Mt. Bachelor website.

Also debuting on November 24th for the 2010/11 season will be Bachelor Ski and Sports. Come up and visit our SKI Magazine "gold medal" shop to check out the latest skis, boots, snowboards, apparel and accessories along with Mark Elling and our MasterFit trained, expert boot-fitting technicians.

For those of you who have not yet taken your photos or picked up your passes for the season, the Guest Services desk at the mountain will be open midweek beginning Friday, November 19 until the mountain opens for the season on the 24th (then the desk will be open daily).


Ski for Schools, Charity Ski Weeks and community support details announced

Take advantage of the best 1-day ticket deal at Mt. Bachelor by picking-up a $25 midweek lift ticket voucher through one of these local non-profit organizations:

  • Ski for Schools: Monday - Friday, November 29 - December 3, 2010.
  • Charity Ski Week, session 1: Monday - Friday, January 3 - 7 and 10 - 14.
  • Charity Ski Week, session 2: Monday - Friday, April 4 - 8 and 11 - 15.

Join us at the "Hops for Hope" event at Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. Lodge this Saturday, November 20 to benefit Oregon Adaptive Sports! $1 from every beer sold that day will go directly to OAS - come raise a glass to support safe and affordable recreation experiences for people with disabilities!


Ski or Ride in 5 Returns!

Have a friend, significant other, or someone you'd like to get on the slopes to learn how to ski or snowboard for the very first time? Take advantage of one of the best deals in the industry with Mt. Bachelor's Ski or Ride in 5 program (SORI5). Here are the details:

  • SORI5 program is offered to "never-evers," 6 years and older who have never tried skiing or snowboarding.
  • Cost: $199 for 5 separate, 2-hour ski or snowboard lessons, 5 full days of gear rentals, and 5 full days of learning area lift tickets. SORI5 packages are assigned to one individual and are non-transferrable.
  • Those that complete all 5 lessons in 2010/11 will receive the following 'graduation gifts':
    • A FREE pass valid for the remainder of the 2010/11 season (ages 6-17 receive a full season pass; ages 18 and older receive a 12-day pass).
    • 50% off next year's 2011/12 full season pass purchase.
    • 25% off their 2012/2013 season pass purchase (must have purchased a 2011/12 pass).

The Ski or Ride in 5 Program begins on-the-snow January 3, 2011, but it may be purchased beginning December 1st - for Reservations, call (541) 382-1709. SORI5 is the perfect holiday gift for the non-skier/rider in your life!


Seasonal Programs

Have you thought about the positive impact a season-long ski/ride/nordic program might have on your kids, but not sure which one is right? Join us on Monday, November 29th from 6-8 pm for the first "Seasonal Program Open House" at the Riverbend Community Room at the Bend Parks & Rec Building (799 SW Columbia - across the river from the Old Mill District). Meet program directors and coaches from the Mt. Bachelor Snow Sports School and Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation (MBSEF) to learn about the Snow Sports School's array of entry-level and development programs and MBSEF's competitive programs offered all season long on Mt. Bachelor.

  • The Snow Sports School All Mountain Kids and Mighty Mites seasonal ski and snowboard development programs are perfect for building a strong, initial foundation in snow sliding skills and life-lessons, including trust, responsibility, snow safety, navigating the mountain and making great turns!
  • Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation (MBSEF) programs are geared toward the student athlete, helping them strive to achieve their individual athletic, academic and personal goals through the self-discipline and physical and mental training required to successfully compete in alpine, Nordic and freestyle snow sports here at home and across the western region. Both programs are great for developing friendships and building a life-long, healthy lifestyle. No matter what program you choose, you and your kids can't go wrong by signing up for a season-long program at Mt. Bachelor this year. Space is limited; don't wait to enroll your kids in one of these fantastic winter programs!

Let us do the driving! Check out our expanded shuttle bus schedule departing from the Mt. Bachelor Park and Ride at SW Columbia throughout the winter season. Daily one-way and round trip tickets are sold at Rays Food Place on Century Drive and Mt. Bachelor Shuttle season passes are still available in person at the Guest Services desk at the mountain.

Full size, Seasonal Locker leases are still available through the Guest Services desk. Enjoy the convenience of storing your gear at the mountain and the value of 2 FREE Ski Corral passes with every locker lease. Act soon, locker space is limited - don't wait!
